Great, or St. Lawrence church is the busiest and most visited monument of Alkmaar. The church is open for tourists in the summer. Weekly thousands of visitors visit the church. Yearly there are more than 70.000 visitors.
Cheesemarket takes place on March 25 to September 2, every Fridat from 10am – 12.30pm on the Waagplein. Thousands of visitors around the world visit the famous cheesemarket. It’s a special eye-catcher with a square full of cheese and hauling cheese carriers.

House with the bullet
The House with the bullet is a national monument building in the centre of Alkmaar. It’s a national monument since December 10 1969. The building is made out of wood. The name is created in the time of the Attack of Alkmaar.
