Wearable Art Award Holland (WAAH!) offers a stage for starting designers, design/art students and everyone with a unique vision or innovative ideas about design, fashion and art. This stage is set in a spectacular theatrical show that is organized every 2 years in the Netherlands. Participating designers will be competing for special WAAH! awards.
WAAH! is looking for designers, students, artists of other people with really cool ideas. All sharing the same passion: making an extravagant or innovative wearable art object or clothing item.
After initial auditions 40 designers will be selected to create their design or vision on their chosen category, and to show that design at the WAAH! theatershow. Subscription to the show of 2020 is open now. The creations have to be finished two months prior to the show. The creations will be photographed to use for promotion. The pictures will also be used by the producers to create a spectacular show with dj’s, vj’s, dancers etc. And offcourse there will be several online and offline promotional opportunities for the designers to show their work to a larger audience.
The competing creations will be shown in a spectacular WAAH! theatreshow with models, dancers and a variety of special acts. The designers will have the oppurtunity to present themselves to representatives of the design, art and fashion world. Renowned designers, artists and other personalities from design/art/fashion will judge the creations and grant the awards by catagory.
Note: designers outside of the Netherlands can enter the auditions by sending examples of their work in pdf- or jpeg-format by WeTransfer. We will contact you after receiving your entryform.
You can enter the preselection auditions by filling out the entryform. You can enter for the categorie(s) of your choice (max. 2 categories). Designers outside the Netherlands will receive further instructions after we have received the form. After the auditions max. 40 designers will be selected to compete at the WAAH! theatreshow in March 2020. At that moment you will be asked to pay an entry fee of € 90,- incl VAT.
